SUMMER IS HERE
The summer bedding plants are on their way and Barwick in Bloom helpers will certainly be
kept occupied for the next couple of Wednesdays. You will have noticed that the flower
beds around the village have been lifted the spent blooms composted and the soil fertilised
in readiness for new plants. For the next two Wednesdays the “Bloomers†will be busy
planting 13,000 plants including a variety of geraniums, begonias, nicotiana and salvias. All
combined to make a fabulous display throughout the summer months. The hanging baskets
will be going up soon too planted with spectacular burgundy and blue vein Surfinias.
We always need help at this time so if you turn up at the post office on Wednesday at 9am
with a trowel there will be plenty of fun to be had.
